IMBA Breeder of the Year Award
IMBA Breeder of the
Year is an award to annually recognize a Morab breeder for their
commitment to the Morab breed. This award recognizes the Morab breeder
for a commitment to breeding quality Morabs.
The Award is based
on points earned from new foals and horses shown that are Three-years
old and under. A breeder with a few horses that places high at shows,
has as much of a chance of winning as a breeder with many horses that
place low at shows. A small breeder who is breeding their stallion can
also do well without having produced many foals or going to a show.
NOMINATION:
Breeders can nominate themselves or nominate others for this award. The
deadline for nomination and form submission is December 31st.
MORAB FOAL POINTS:
For each
IMR registerable person/farm/partnership owned foal born during the
year. Points are awarded to the appropriate owners of the Foal, Sire and
Dam. The Sire and Dam do not need to be Morabs for the points to count,
but the foal does have to meet the International Morab Registry (IMR)
requirements. So even an Arabian stallion owner may win the Morab
Breeder of the Year award.
Example: Mr. Smith has a Morab Foal sired by Mr. Jones Arabian
stallion and out of Mrs. Doe's Morgan Mare.
Mr. Smith receives 10 points and Mr. Jones receives 10 points and Mrs.
Doe receives 10 points.

MORAB CLASSES
= Double Points (Note the name Morab must appear in the official program
description of the class.)
PARTICIPATION
= 1 pt per class entered and competed in but did not place.
ADDITIONAL POINTS
= 2pts for any Show category activity with 8 or more participating.
