IMBA Morab
Horse of the Year
The Morab Horse of
the Year award is to honor our Morabs that are out promoting the breed.
It is awarded to the Morab who in the preceding year has generated the
greatest amount of favorable notice for the Morab breed or demonstrated
the highest qualities of Morab traits.
This award was
established to encourage promotion of Morabs through their use before
the public. Because we wish to extend the recognition and popularity of
the Morab to all horse owners and potential owners, preference is given
to “open” activities rather than activities limited to Morabs. The
publicity of such activities is also considered. Although activities in
years prior to the previous year may be considered in a close decision,
it is activities in the preceding year which are emphasized.
Promotion may be
made through shows, trail rides, parades, exhibitions, driving events,
clinics, or any event where the horse is presented to the public in a
favorable, educational or promotional way. Winning in events is an asset
but should not take precedence over other activities in which a horse
exhibits the qualities of a good Morab.
Horses that have
previously won the award may apply again.
The IMBA Board of
Directors votes to decide on the winner each year based on the
information provided.
Deadline is October
1st of the year applying for the Award. (Ex. Horses applying for 2006,
the deadline would be October 1, 2006.)
Morab Horse of the
Year Award Submission:
Presentation should
be clear, complete and easy to read. A minimum of two publishable
photographs. Videos would also be appreciated. The format of the
submission will not override the promotional value of the activities.
Please include the
following: Name of horse, Registration number, Sire, Dam, Sex, Age,
Color, Owner’s Name and address, phone and email.
List the Activities
for the Year including: date, event, activity or class, number of
entries, attendees (approximate if necessary) and award or placings.
Please explain how your Morab has promoted the Morab breed throughout
the past year, include any publicity received such as newspaper or
magazine articles.
